Three children hospitalised following tear gas attack by police on Lyon squat

Filed under: Uncategorized — twentyonemiles @ 9:59 pm

On the evening of Friday 19th November in the 8th arrondissement of Lyon, a baby, a toddler and a teenager were all taken to hospital following an unprovoked tear gas attack by police on a Roma squat.

The police had come to the squat to tell the inhabitants that they will soon be evicted. They had seemingly left but then suddenly, without provocation, they launched a tear gas attack just 5m from the door.

Police later told the press that they has been confronted by a German shepherd showing its teeth, and that they were 30m from the squat.
